The Berry Street Clinic is a specialist paediatric clinic. We aim to provide individualised support for children of all ages, and aid them as they grow and develop. A range of services are available to cater to the complex needs of a child or young adult within a family unit, which is a focus for all our professionals.
Our Services
A comprehensive history will be taken to determine any concerns in a consultation with one of our specialists. Upon seeing you and your child, the doctor can assess for a diagnosis, provide a treatment plan and recommend any further testing if applicable.
Any general health concerns can be addressed in a consultation with one of our specialists. These may include any medical issues, food intolerances, allergies and the long-term management of chronic medical conditions.
We recognise the importance of support and accurate medical attention during the newborn period. Our paediatricians are available for consultations with regards to newborn feeding and settling issues, growth concerns or specific medical conditions.
Psychometric testing can often be an important piece of the puzzle in the management of clinically diagnosed or suspected behavioural conditions such as ADHD, intellectual delay and learning difficulties. Our psychologists offer comprehensive testing and reports including the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test and ancillary tests and questionnaires for caregivers, including parents and teachers.
Our education consultant with over 30 years’ experience performs certified learning tests (literacy and numeracy) in children who have a diagnosed specific learning difficulty or are struggling with progress academically. This is an objective assessment to determine progress when modifications to learning strategies or medication has been in place for a period of time.
Assessments are also available for HSC students requiring extra provisions in exams in line with NESA guidelines.
Our speech pathologist conducts various assessments to determine your child’s strengths and weaknesses in speech, language and literacy – such as CELF-5 (language), YARC (reading comprehension) and DEAP (speech). The results are explained along with any intervention recommendations. Ongoing speech therapy is also available.
Telehealth appointments are available for some consultations. If you would like to schedule a telehealth appointment, please speak to our reception team and they will advise if this is possible for your appointment. Please note that we do not do initial consultations via telehealth. If you chose to book a telehealth appointment, please be aware that if your child is not present in the appointment, you will not receive a Medicare rebate.
