Dr Eric Chung is a Consultant General Paediatrician and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He cares for children and adolescents across a wide range of medical, developmental, and behavioural concerns. Eric enjoys all areas of general paediatrics, with particular interests in newborn care and growth, general gastroenterology, adolescent medicine, behavioural and developmental presentations, and chronic pain.
Eric completed his medical degree at the University of New South Wales before undertaking paediatric training with the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network. During the final years of his training he worked as the General Paediatric Fellow at Royal North Shore Hospital and also spent a year as the Chronic Pain Fellow at Sydney Children’s Hospital. Through his training and clinical work he has gained extensive experience caring for children with both common and complex medical needs.
Eric believes strongly in evidence-based medicine and patient- and family-centred care to achieve the best possible outcomes for each child. He has worked across rural, regional, and tertiary paediatric settings and has developed broad professional networks, allowing him to help families access the range of services and supports available across New South Wales.
Outside of work, Eric enjoys an active and social life with his wife, daughter, and two much-loved “fur babies.” He has a wide range of hobbies and prides himself on keeping up with the latest trends and interests that each new generation brings.
Dr Chung is available for appointments on Mondays and Fridays.
